About our Arizona politics news

Latest politics news in Arizona including updates on local, state and federal legislature, economic policy, long-term water supplies, and more.

Arizona was considered a solid red state but was narrowly won by the Democrats in the 2020 election. In the federal government, Arizona is represented by two U.S. Senators and nine U.S. Representatives. One Senator, Kyrsten Sinema, is an independent whist the other, Mark Kelly, is a Democrat. Of the nine Representatives, six are Republican and three are Democrat. Arizona has a Democrat governor, Katie Hobbs, who was elected in 2022. The state legislature is also controlled by Republicans, who have majorities in both chambers.
