About our Len Goodman news

Latest news on Len Goodman, a British dancer, choreographer, teacher and television personality who was best known for being the head judge on Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 to 2016. He also appeared as a judge on the US version of the show, Dancing with the Stars, from 2005 to 2022. He was born in Bromley, London, in 1944 and started dancing at the age of 19 after a friend suggested he take up ballroom dancing to improve his posture. He went on to win the British Championships in his late 20s and became a respected figure in the dance world.

Goodman was also a popular television personality who hosted various shows such as The People's Strictly for Comic Relief, Partners in Rhyme and Holiday of My Lifetime. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2013 for his services to dance and entertainment.

Goodman died on 24 April 2023 at the age of 78 in a hospice in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, following a short illness. He had been diagnosed with bone cancer in 2022 and had undergone surgery to remove a tumour from his lung.
