About our Vancouver Canucks news
Latest news on the Vancouver Canucks, a professional ice hockey team based in British Columbia who compete in the Pacific Division of the NHL's Western Conference.
Founded in 1945 as a member of the Pacific Coast Hockey League (PCHL), the team joined the NHL in 1970 as an expansion team alongside the Buffalo Sabres. The Canucks play their home games at the Rogers Arena in downtown Vancouver.
Vancouver have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals on three separate occasions but are yet to lift the famed trophy as winners. They were defeated by the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.
The Canucks also have minor league affiliations with the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Kalamazoo Wings of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
